The Fijian Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) is set to enhance its live sports coverage by broadcasting the Vodafone Deans quarterfinal matches from King Charles Park Ground 1 in Nadi this Saturday, in addition to its existing coverage from Churchill Park ground one in Lautoka. This expansion allows fans to enjoy all six key matchups from Nadi on FBC 2, while FBC TV continues to showcase the matches taking place in Lautoka.

For Fijians living abroad, all matches at King Charles Park Ground 1 will be available for viewing via pay-per-view on VitiPlus for $49 FJD.

The exciting lineup begins with an Under-14 match at 8:30 AM between Suva Grammar School and St Vincent College, followed by a series of intense competitions across various age groups. The Under-15 match will feature Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School against Lelean Memorial School at 9:30 AM, while the Under-17 game will see Suva Grammar School go up against Shri Guru Nanak Khalsa College at 10:40 AM. The day’s action continues with an Under-19 clash between Tailevu Naitasiri College and Naitasiri Secondary School at 11:40 AM, and concludes with Ratu Navula College playing against Ratu Simione Matanitobua College at 1:05 PM, and the final matchup between Nasinu Secondary School and Ratu Kadavulevu School at 2:30 PM.

This event is part of a larger commitment by the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union (FSSRU) to provide competitive opportunities for youth athletes despite prior challenges regarding venue conditions, previously leading to adjustments in match locations. Reports suggest that this weekend’s competition promises a vibrant display of sportsmanship and skill, giving young athletes the platform to showcase their talents.

Through these live broadcasts, FBC is reinforcing its dedication to community engagement and youth sports, while also providing fans globally the chance to connect with their homegrown talent. The increased media exposure for young athletes is seen as an essential step in fostering the next generation of rugby players in Fiji, ultimately inspiring unity and pride within the sport.
