The Fiji Sports Council (FSC) Under-20 rugby team is gearing up with a winning mindset as they prepare for an upcoming tour to New Zealand next month. Head coach Sireli Bobo shared details about the team’s preparation schedule, stating that they will start their training camp on January 3 and depart for New Zealand on January 29.
Bobo expressed his gratitude towards the FSC for organizing the Under-20 sevens series, which spanned five legs across various locations, culminating in a successful event at Suva’s HFC Bank Stadium on November 30. He noted the impressive turnout and the emergence of untapped talent showcased throughout the competition.
Following the series, Bobo has named his team, which highlights several clubs, including Village Boys, QVSOBs, Ca’au, and Dominion Brothers, who have shown consistent performance. Bobo remarked on how even lesser-known teams managed to challenge more established clubs.
The head coach emphasized the overarching goal of player development, particularly from grassroots levels, as they aim to prepare youngsters for broader competitive environments.
