Local tourism operators in Fiji have gained an exceptional opportunity to promote their offerings during the Fiji Tourism Exchange (FTE) 2025. Over the course of two days, these operators engaged with international buyers, with the aim of enhancing their visibility and expanding their global outreach.
Brent Hill, Chief Executive of Tourism Fiji, emphasized the importance of this event for businesses that find it challenging to market themselves internationally. He stated, “For many of our tourism businesses, traveling to markets in the UK, Europe, or North America to promote their operations can be prohibitively expensive. Therefore, we bring buyers directly to Fiji, which is crucial for driving sales globally.”
Among the attendees, Rebecca Mason, a buyer from Audley Travel in the UK, expressed that her experience at the expo revealed much more about Fiji than she had seen online. She remarked, “It has been eye-opening to understand what makes it worthwhile to travel all this way, to meet the people and experience the essence of Fiji in person.”
With its triumphant execution, the FTE has set a promising foundation for future international collaborations, positioning Fiji’s tourism sector for growth on the global stage. This aligns with previous events in the tourism calendar, such as the recent Tourism Super Week, which aimed to empower local businesses by enhancing their skill sets and addressing market challenges.
Moreover, the thriving partnership between Tourism Fiji and Fiji Airways has proven vital in facilitating the reach of Fiji as a destination, greatly contributing to the ongoing success of the tourism industry. This collaborative spirit within the sector is fostering a hopeful narrative for sustainable tourism practices and shared economic benefits for local communities.
In conclusion, the FTE not only serves as a platform for showcasing Fiji’s offerings but also reflects the country’s broader commitment to community involvement and sustainable tourism—a move that promises a bright future for the local industry.
