In a recent announcement made during the Fiji Teachers Registration Authority Annual Congress in Nadi, Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro stated that 395 teachers who have recently upgraded their qualifications will soon receive 50 percent of their salary upgrade payments, with the remaining balance scheduled for disbursement in January 2025.

Additionally, Radrodro noted that 103 Assistant Principals will also receive a salary increase to better reflect their roles compared to Heads of Departments. He commended the teachers for their dedication in enhancing their professional qualifications and their efforts to diversify their expertise beyond traditional teaching areas, including skills in management. The Government’s initiative to honor these educators underscores its commitment to retaining qualified professionals in the education sector.

The ongoing meeting in Nadi aims to further address important issues within the education system and reinforce the value of continuous professional development among educators.

This positive step not only recognizes the hard work of teachers but also promotes a culture of lifelong learning, which is essential for advancing the educational landscape in Fiji. By investing in education professionals, the Government is taking a significant stride towards improving overall academic standards and outcomes for students across the nation.
