Fiji’s Senior Golf Tournament: A Day of Competition and Celebration!

The Fiji Senior Golfers tournament, sponsored by Asco Motors, was held at the Natadola Golf Course in Nadi over the weekend.

Fiji Golf Club Secretary Susan Yee reported that 70 players participated in the two-person Ambrose event, with competitors from the West, Pacific Harbour, Australia, and the Fiji Golf Club enjoying a day of golf.

Yee noted the encouraging participation of 20 female golfers, including well-known players such as Susan Joyce, Barbara O’Neil, and Heather Atu from Nadi, alongside Australia’s Tema Buadromo and Fiji Golf Club members Barbara Nasara, Mua Rawlinson, and Caroline Chang.

Prizes were awarded to the top six teams, as well as for Nearest-to-the-Pin on all Par 3s and Longest Drives for both male and female participants, all made possible by sponsorship from Asco Motors Limited. The event also included the presentation of two lucky draw vouchers and a delicious lunch provided by the Natadola team.

In the tournament, the winners were as follows: Indar Wajan and Joeli claimed 6th place with 67.5 points, while Asim Hussein and Thiphait Hussein took 5th with 67 points. Kamal Singh and Naveen Chand finished 4th with 66.5 points, Jack Lee and Rookie secured 3rd place with 66 points, and Linda Callaghan and Vidhya Lakhan took 2nd with 65.75 points. The champions of the tournament were Carol Wright and Susan Joyce, who achieved 1st place with 64 points.
