The Fiji Residence rugby league team is preparing for an exciting match against Samoa tomorrow, which will serve as a curtain-raiser for the Vodafone Fiji Bati versus Cook Islands Pacific Bowl clash.

Vula Dakuitoga, a former Fiji Bati player and the current coach of the Residence team, expressed confidence in their preparations. He mentioned that the team spent the previous week in camp at Uprising in Navua, working on refining their attack and defense strategies to ensure they are ready to face Samoa.

Dakuitoga stressed the significance of the match, anticipating fierce competition as two Pacific Island nations go head-to-head on the rugby league field. He described the game as potentially explosive, highlighting the excitement of two Pacific Islands competing against each other.

He acknowledged the challenge Samoa poses but remains optimistic about his team’s ability to secure a win. “Samoa will come in strong, as we all know they will be tough, but we won’t let them take the easy road; we will win this match,” Dakuitoga stated.

To encourage support from fans and families, particularly following the Fiji Bati team’s disappointing results over the weekend, Dakuitoga called for everyone to come out and cheer for all three teams: Fiji Residence, Fiji Bati, and Fiji Bulikula. He vowed that the team is determined to deliver an impressive performance and come out victorious.

In addition, the team took the opportunity to give back to the community by visiting the Disability Centre in Suva yesterday, demonstrating their commitment both on and off the field.

The Fiji Residents will face the Samoa Residents at 3:50 PM at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
