Fijian swimmer Tolu Young recently showcased his remarkable talent at the 2025 UniSport Nationals Sydney Open, held at the iconic Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre. Competing in the Men’s 15&O category, Young’s performances stood out, highlighting him as one of the leading swimmers in the event.

In the competitive 50-metre backstroke, Young achieved an impressive 4th place out of 123 entrants, clocking a time of 22.62 seconds. Notably, this marked an improvement of 0.09 seconds from his previous best entry time of 22.71 seconds. Starting the event seeded 7th, he progressed effectively through the heats and prelims, narrowly missing the podium in what was a closely contested final.

Young also made waves in the 50-metre butterfly event. He entered the finals with a seed time of 24.47 seconds but excelled to secure a personal best of 24.33 seconds, ultimately finishing 7th and shaving 0.14 seconds off his entry time.
