Abaramo Ratucove, a talented middle-distance runner, has embarked on an exciting journey to the United States after receiving a two-year academic and athletic scholarship with Neosho Community College. His departure marks a proud milestone not only for him but also for the Marist Brothers’ High School and its Athletics Club, which have recognized his commitment, consistency, and strong work ethic.

Ratucove has made a name for himself in both school and national competitions, establishing himself as a leading figure in middle-distance running. His strategic racing style, explosive finishing ability, and tendency to perform under pressure have contributed to an impressive track record.

His accolades include three gold medals from the Coca-Cola Games, with notable victories in the Intermediate Boys 800m in 2023 and Senior Boys 800m in 2024, where he achieved a personal best time of 2:00.80. Ratucove has also made significant strides in the 1500m, showcasing his versatility and solidifying his status as a prominent athlete in Fiji’s sports scene.

His achievements have not gone unnoticed, earning him a spot on Team Fiji for the upcoming 2024 Oceania Championships. Ratucove’s impressive rankings in both the 800m and 1500m events reflect his dedication and talent, positioning him as a potential contender for the 2025 Mini Pacific Games.
