Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka conducted bilateral discussions with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres in Nuku’alofa, Tonga, ahead of the 53rd Pacific Islands Forum Meeting. During their meeting, Rabuka emphasized Fiji’s steadfast commitment to the fundamental principles of the UN Charter since the country joined the organization in 1970. He reaffirmed that Fiji believes multilateralism is crucial for tackling global challenges. “Our ongoing involvement on the global stage showcases our resilience and the vital role we play in creating a better world,” Rabuka stated. Additionally, he attended a service at the Centenary Church with other Pacific Island Leaders, where they sought guidance and unity to navigate the challenges and opportunities facing their region.
