Fiji’s Paralympians Shine Bright at Paris 2024!

The Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection has extended its congratulations to Fiji’s Paralympians for their impressive performances at the ongoing Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Minister Lynda Tabuya expressed profound pride in the athletes, who have shown exceptional talent and determination on a global platform.

One of the noteworthy athletes is Irene Mar, who reached a personal best in Taekwondo, securing a 7th place ranking worldwide. “This remarkable achievement reflects her dedication and hard work, and we are immensely proud of her accomplishments,” stated Minister Tabuya.

Additionally, Selina Seau and Naibili Vatunisolo Tagicakibau were recognized for their commendable performances. Seau showcased notable resilience and spirit, while Tagicakibau made history by establishing a new Oceania Record in the F64 shot put with a throw of 9.19 meters.

“The Ministry acknowledges the substantial effort and dedication that our three female Paralympians have invested in their training and competitions. Their achievements are a testament to their perseverance and passion for their sports, inspiring future generations to follow their aspirations,” she concluded.
