The Fijian Holdings Limited (FHL) Tower has officially completed construction, and two tenants, including the Asian Development Bank, have already set up their offices in the new landmark building in Suva. Board member Tevita Tuiloa announced that the project was finished as of June 10, paving the way for additional tenants, such as the Korean Embassy, the World Bank, and Bred Bank, to move in early next year.

This significant development comes on the heels of previous challenges that included a temporary halt in construction due to a tragic incident in December 2024, where two workers were injured, one fatally. Following a thorough review, the site was deemed compliant with all Occupational Health and Safety regulations, enabling work to continue safely. Moreover, Energy Fiji Limited has successfully cleared the site’s electrical installations, ensuring all utilities meet required standards.

The FHL Tower, standing as a 17-storey structure, is anticipated to play a crucial role in enhancing Suva’s skyline and boosting the local economy. This project demonstrates FHL’s unwavering commitment to safety and responsible construction practices, reflecting a positive momentum towards fostering a safer work environment.

Looking back at the journey, despite the setbacks caused by tragic incidents and delays from the COVID-19 pandemic, the opening of the FHL Tower is a hopeful indicator of growth and resilience within the community. The project not only signifies a vital investment opportunity but also establishes a precedent for high safety standards and enhanced construction protocols for future developments in the region.

This turning point signifies a brighter outlook for Fiji as it moves towards sustainable infrastructure that promises significant economic benefits and enhanced community engagement.
