Fiji’s Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica and Deputy Prime Minister Viliame Gavoka are representing the nation at the World Government Summit (WGS) in Dubai from February 11-13. This pivotal event serves as a global forum aimed at shaping the future of governance through innovation and technology.

The WGS has convened global leaders, experts, and policymakers since 2013 to discuss pressing issues related to governance in what they term the “Intelligent Age.” Key topics being addressed include “The Future We Shape” and “Can We Innovate Our Way to a More Connected World?” The summit is designed not only for dialogue but also for fostering partnerships to tackle the world’s challenges.

On the first day of the summit, Kamikamica engaged in various informative sessions and is expected to participate in high-level roundtable discussions and panel sessions. In addition to these discussions, he will hold bilateral meetings with representatives from both the public and private sectors to strengthen Fiji’s global partnerships and seek new economic opportunities.

The engagement of Fiji’s leaders in this summit highlights the nation’s commitment to embracing innovative solutions for governance and actively pursuing avenues for international collaboration. This proactive approach bodes well for Fiji’s future as it aims to navigate the global landscape more effectively.
