RUM Co. of Fiji’s Lautoka 16-Year-Old has garnered a silver medal at the Asia Spirits Rating Competition, a prestigious event that celebrates excellence in quality, value, and presentation within the spirits industry. This accolade marks another milestone for RUM Co. of Fiji, adding to an impressive collection of over 230 international awards and reinforcing its dedication to the traditional art of Fijian rum-making.
The recognition establishes the Lautoka 16-Year-Old as a premium spirit of international caliber, enhancing Fiji’s reputation on the global rum stage. Etrina Simpson, head of Marketing – Alcohol at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Fiji (CCEP), expressed pride in the achievement, particularly as it was the company’s initial entry into the competition.
Ms. Simpson emphasized that the Lautoka 16-Year-Old reflects 16 years of careful maturation and skilled craftsmanship. “This recognition confirms that South Pacific Distillery in Lautoka produces premium rum with a unique identity and global appeal,” she stated. The rum is highlighted for its depth and refined character, matured in small batches. It features a smoky oak aroma, a well-rounded palate filled with spice and dried fruit, and concludes with a subtle peppered note.
