The inaugural BSP Life Summer Cup held at the Fiji Golf Course in Vatuwaqa witnessed the participation of 85 golfers on Saturday, highlighting BSP Life’s ongoing commitment to the development of golf in Fiji. The event was attended by managing director Michael Nacola, showcasing the company’s support for local sports.

The Summer Cup is a tournament series that has been sponsored by BSP Life for over ten years, underlining the company’s dedication to wellness and community involvement. Fiji Golf Sponsorship Chairman Mohammed Buksh shared that the tournament will span four weeks, featuring individual stroke play over four rounds. Among the competing golfers were four youths and four women, demonstrating the tournament’s inclusive nature and its appeal to diverse participants.

Originally, there were concerns about weather conditions, but the day turned out to be sunny and perfect for golfing, allowing the event to take place seamlessly. Buksh emphasized that the Summer Cup is the first competition of the year, setting a promising tone for a busy calendar filled with events, such as an annual general meeting and the launch of the 2025 season.
