South Sea Towage Limited has officially welcomed three graduates from the Nadave Technical School as intern employees. Nathan Campbell, Seveci Vakaloloma, and Saimoni Raikuna are the first participants in this initiative launched by the Center for Appropriate Technology and Development (CATD) under the Ministry of I-taukei Affairs, Culture, Heritage, and Arts.

Aporosa Silatolu, Director for CATD Nadave, emphasized the significance of this event and the center’s commitment to creating meaningful employment for not only these three individuals but also for the broader youth community in Fiji. “The center aims to provide a platform of meaningful employment for many youths in Fiji, and we are very happy to have been able to sign three of our interns today. They are the first of many,” he stated.

Twenty-one-year-old Saimoni Raikuna, who graduated from Nadave Technical School last year, expressed his appreciation for the opportunity with South Seas Towage Limited. “I am very grateful to have been given this opportunity as I never imagined this ever happening. This is only the start of my career,” he remarked.

Raikuna encouraged fellow youths in Fiji to leverage their skills to support themselves, advising, “For my brothers and sisters listening, don’t see your educational background as a barrier in achieving your dreams.”

The Nadave Technical School aims to be a key player in the Ministry of Itaukei Affairs’ efforts to create job opportunities for the youth in Fiji and address rising unemployment rates.
