In a generous display of community support, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Manoa Kamikamica, collaborated with Vuvale Outsourcing and Lowes Menswear to donate $1.5 million worth of new children’s clothing to the students of Ro Camaisala Memorial School in Nabukavesi. This donation, consisting of various styles including pants, shorts, and sportswear, signifies a vital partnership between local and international businesses aimed at enhancing the lives of children in Fiji.
DPM Kamikamica emphasized the importance of such collaborative efforts in diversifying Fiji’s economy and creating sustainable job opportunities. “The future of our economy lies in embracing partnerships that foster sustainable growth. Today’s donation ensures that our children have the necessities they need to succeed,” he stated. During his visit, he encouraged students to dream big, reminding them that perseverance can lead to significant achievements as many great leaders began their journeys as students.
The initiative aligns with past efforts from similar projects, such as the Lowe’s Children Donation Project, which aims to support children, especially in remote areas, by providing essential clothing. This broader commitment to corporate social responsibility is a promising trend within Fiji, showcasing how businesses can play a crucial role in community development.
With over 30 schools set to benefit from the clothing donation, this act not only addresses immediate needs but also contributes to a positive narrative around educational support in Fiji. As these partnerships grow, they pave the way for a brighter future for the country’s children, who are the backbone of its potential economic and social progress.
