Fiji Women’s Futsal Head Coach Jerry Sam has highlighted the team’s enthusiasm to learn and progress as their key strength. Currently, the squad is in the Solomon Islands preparing for the inaugural OFC Women’s Futsal Championship, where they will face Tahiti in their opening match.

“The girls have trained hard for this tournament. They are always looking ahead, and representing Fiji is a significant milestone they all aspire to achieve,” Sam stated.

He praised the team’s camaraderie, noting how well the players support and motivate each other. “It’s wonderful to witness the girls blending together and encouraging one another to move forward. Since they are new to this, they are eager to learn something new each day,” he added.

Sam expressed that he will be able to assess the team’s performance more accurately after their first match against Tahiti on Saturday, but maintains a strong confidence in his squad’s capabilities.
