The newly upgraded Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS) office in Ba was officially inaugurated yesterday by Minister for Finance Esrom Immanuel. This modern facility is poised to improve access for taxpayers in the Western Division, alleviating the need for lengthy travel to receive essential services.
The newly designed office incorporates digital kiosks, enhanced frontline support, and upgraded amenities catering to both staff and clientele. Minister Immanuel emphasized the FRCS’s role beyond just revenue collection; he described it as a vital partner to businesses, workers, investors, and communities. He also mentioned the agency’s ongoing commitment to modernization and heightened performance across its operations, underscoring its dedication to transparency and responsiveness.
Jitoko Tikolevu, a board director at FRCS, expressed gratitude towards the government and partners for their support in this project, reiterating the agency’s ambition to elevate national standards. “This commitment is at the very heart of every strategic initiative we undertake, including the renovation and upgrading of our offices, such as the modernized Ba Office,” Tikolevu stated. He highlighted how these improvements aim to enhance the service experience for both taxpayers and traders throughout Fiji.
The opening of the Ba office symbolizes a renewed focus on service enhancement, staff support, and overall improvement in the taxpayer and trader experience within the Western Division. This development indicates a significant step forward for FRCS in its mission to better serve the Fijian community.
