The 2025 RC Manubhai/Apco Veterans tournament is set to commence this Thursday at the Fiji FA Academy in Suva, showcasing a lineup of 16 teams competing across two divisions: Over 40s and Over 45s. Football enthusiasts can look forward to an exciting atmosphere as former district and national players return to the pitch.

In the Over 40s division, Group A consists of Rewa Masters, Suva Masters, Navua Masters, and Tailevu Naitasiri Veterans, while Group B includes Rewa Legends, Suva Combined Masters, Nadi Masters, and Nasinu Legends. Similarly, the Over 45s division features My Suva Legends, Nasinu Legends, Rewa Masters, and Lami Legends in Group A, and Suva Combined Masters, Nasinu Masters, Rewa Legends, and Lautoka Veterans in Group B.

A notable aspect of this year’s tournament is the absence of the defending champions in the Over 45s category, guaranteeing that a new champion will be crowned.

Fiji Football Association CEO Mohammed Yusuf emphasized that this tournament is about more than the sport itself; it serves as a tribute to those who have shaped football in Fiji. Proceeds from the tournament will support former players and their families, highlighting a sense of community and gratitude towards past contributors to the sport.

The tournament is anticipated to attract nostalgic crowds eager to witness the returning talents of Fiji’s football legends, showcasing passion and camaraderie on the field. This event not only celebrates the love of football but also underscores the importance of community ties and support for veteran players.

As the event unfolds, it promises to reinforce the spirit of competition and solidarity in Fiji’s rich football culture, providing a heartening experience for all involved.
