Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka officiated the groundbreaking ceremony for the Lautoka Seventh Day Adventist High School, a pivotal milestone for Fiji’s education sector. The new high school is projected to open in 2026, significantly increasing educational accessibility for local children.
During his address, Rabuka expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Today, we’re here to celebrate progress. On behalf of the Government, I convey my gratitude to the SDA Church for its contribution towards the education sector in Fiji.” He highlighted the essential role that religious institutions play in education, recognizing that they are responsible for managing about 95% of the country’s schools.
The Prime Minister reiterated the Government’s dedication to fostering partnerships with various religious organizations and stakeholders to enhance the educational landscape in Fiji. He called for collective efforts from all parties involved to ensure the successful realization of this project.
Moreover, the SDA Church currently operates three high schools and twelve primary schools across Fiji, continuing its commitment to educational development in the region.
