Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Co-Operatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Communications, Manoa Kamikamica, inaugurated the Early Childhood Development (ECD) Policy at the Holiday Inn this morning. He highlighted that this policy is designed to establish a solid foundation for a more robust economy and a brighter future for all citizens of Fiji.

The ECD Policy focuses on ensuring that every child in Fiji receives adequate care, nutrition, and early learning opportunities. Additionally, it aims to safeguard children from abuse, neglect, violence, and conflict.

This initiative holds promise for fostering a supportive environment for Fiji’s youngest citizens, potentially leading to improved societal outcomes as children grow into adulthood. By prioritizing early childhood development, the government is taking significant steps toward building a healthier and more prosperous nation.

For additional context, investing in early childhood education and protection can yield long-term benefits, both for individuals and society as a whole, such as reduced crime rates and enhanced economic productivity.
