Fiji’s digital landscape received a transformative upgrade with the arrival of four Bulikula Subsea Cables, significantly boosting the nation’s international connectivity. Two of the cables will land in Suva and the other two in Natadola, establishing a direct link to major global regions including the United States, Australia, Japan, and South America.
The event was marked by a welcoming ceremony attended by Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica, along with representatives from the land-owning unit, FNPF, the Google team, and other key stakeholders. Kamikamica emphasized the strong collaborative effort between the Fiji Government, Google, and participating organizations, stating, “This project highlights the confidence global partners have in Fiji.”
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the project not only underscores Fiji’s commitment to enhancing digital connectivity but also aims to stimulate economic growth within the country. He expressed appreciation for the collaborative support from all partners involved, including local stakeholders and the land-holding unit.
