Labasa striker Rusiate Doidoi has been called up to represent the Fiji National Football Team at the MSG Prime Minister’s Cup in the Solomon Islands. He steps in for Mosese Nabose from Tailevu Naitasiri, who had to withdraw due to work commitments.

The Bula Boys, under the guidance of Coach Marika Rodu, have been training since Sunday and are scheduled to depart for the Solomon Islands tomorrow. Rodu expressed confidence in the team’s strength and resilience, citing that Doidoi’s addition to the squad enhances their offensive capabilities.

The MSG Cup serves as an important platform for teams within the Melanesian Spearhead Group, fostering both regional talent and unity. Fiji’s matches in the tournament are as follows: their initial game against Vanuatu will take place on Thursday, December 8, at 2 PM, followed by a clash with Papua New Guinea on Sunday, December 15, at 5 PM. They will also face the Solomon Islands Development team on Wednesday, December 18, at 7 PM, concluding their group stage with a match against the Solomon Islands on Saturday, December 21, at 7 PM.

This opportunity for Doidoi to showcase his talent at a significant regional event represents not only a personal milestone but also a moment for Fiji to rally together as they aim for success in the tournament. Engaging in such competitions promotes growth and solidarity among football teams in the region, offering hope for a bright future in Melanesian football.
