The Ministry of Education in Fiji is set to implement a new initiative aimed at recognizing and rewarding teachers who have dedicated over 20 years of service. Minister Aseri Radrodro announced that these teachers will see phased salary adjustments beginning in the coming months, as part of the government’s commitment to acknowledge and uplift the teaching profession.
This initiative builds on previous measures, including the recent financial upgrades for 296 teachers who achieved qualification advancements, amounting to approximately $2.3 million distributed during the Christmas pay period last year. Radrodro highlighted the importance of the teaching profession in shaping the future of Fiji and emphasized the government’s ongoing efforts to support educators.
In addition to the new initiative for long-serving teachers, the Minister also announced that 103 Assistant Principals will receive step-up increments this month, enhancing career growth opportunities within the educational leadership framework.
