The Fiji Football side has been placed in a challenging group for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025, which marks the nation’s inaugural appearance at this prestigious tournament. Known as the Baby Bula Boys, Fiji will compete in Group D alongside football powerhouses Argentina, Belgium, and Tunisia, a draw that has been described as tough by Fiji Football Association Chief Executive Mohammed Yusuf.

“This is a historic moment for these U17 players competing in the World Cup,” Yusuf said. The tournament is notable for being expanded to feature 48 nations for the first time, organized into 12 groups of four. This year’s draw took place in Doha with the assistance of prominent football figures, including Julian Draxler, who won the FIFA World Cup with Germany in 2014, and former Qatari player Abdulaziz Al Sulaiti.

Fans can look forward to exciting matches throughout the tournament, such as Belgium facing Argentina and hosts Qatar going up against Italy. The competition will not only provide challenges for Fiji’s young athletes but also essential experience and exposure to high-level football, marking an important step in their development.

Fiji’s journey to the World Cup is particularly significant as it highlights the increasing talent within the region and offers hope for future successes on the international stage. Major support from local communities is expected as fans prepare for their first match, demonstrating the pride and enthusiasm surrounding this memorable occasion for Fijian football.
