Registrations are officially open for the 2024 ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards (FETA), as announced at the launch event in Nadi last night by Chair Debra Sadranu. Interested participants have until October 18, 2024, to submit their applications, providing a three-month window to engage in this prestigious recognition of local tourism businesses.
Sadranu encouraged potential applicants to thoroughly review the eligibility criteria to ensure their submissions are valid. She reiterated that this year’s awards are inclusive of all types of local tourism businesses, with a newly enhanced application process designed to simplify participation.
A special highlight of the event was the induction of Rosie Holidays into the FETA Hall of Fame, marking the company’s exceptional achievement of winning the “C&I Operator of the Year” award for three consecutive years. This induction serves as a testament to their consistent excellence in the tourism sector, as the Hall of Fame was established in 2017 to honor businesses significantly excelling within their categories.
Sadranu also expressed gratitude to the awards’ sponsors, which include longstanding supporters such as ANZ, Vodafone, and Fiji Airports, while also welcoming new sponsors including My Fiji and Fiji Airways, thus showcasing a robust backing for the event.
This year’s awards hold a greater significance as they provide a platform for the tourism sector to not only shine in their respective fields but also promote local culture, sustainability, and innovation, contributing to Fiji’s vibrant tourism landscape.
The positive spin on this development suggests a promising future for sustainable tourism in Fiji, as more businesses seek recognition and strive to enhance their services in a competitive landscape. The engagement from local enterprises reflects a collective commitment to uplifting the tourism industry while celebrating Fiji’s rich beauty and cultural heritage.
Overall, the FETA awards not only recognize excellence but also encourage tourism businesses to innovate and contribute positively to the local economy, making this initiative valuable for stakeholders and the wider community alike.
