FijiCare Insurance Limited is taking significant strides to improve healthcare accessibility across Fiji with the launch of new medical centers in Samabula and Nadi. These centers will provide outpatient and diagnostic services, addressing vital health needs within local communities.
During the Fiji Medical Association’s Mini Conference, Chief Operating Officer Krishika Narayan shared exciting plans for a state-of-the-art cardiac and interventional radiology center slated to open in the Suva-Nausori corridor later this year. This multi-million dollar initiative has been developed in partnership with MIOT International Hospital, underscoring FijiCare’s commitment to enhancing the healthcare infrastructure in Fiji.
Narayan highlighted FijiCare’s substantial impact on the healthcare landscape, noting that in 2024, the company processed over 176,000 medical claims and allocated more than $22 million to support insured members. This reflects FijiCare’s pivotal role in the country’s healthcare system and its dedication to ensuring that all Fijians have access to quality medical care.
This commitment is further exemplified by FijiCare’s sponsorship of $50,000 to the Fiji Medical Association in 2025 aimed at bolstering healthcare services nationwide, focusing on essential initiatives such as medical training and health awareness programs. Narayan emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in navigating the challenges faced by the healthcare sector, including the rising demand for medical insurance tied to employee retention strategies in various businesses.
Amid ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare services, there is renewed hope for the future of healthcare in Fiji. The progressive investment in infrastructure and collaborative initiatives are likely to foster better health outcomes and enhance overall community well-being. As these developments unfold, Fiji’s healthcare system appears to be on an upward trajectory, promoting better health management and a healthier population.
