Fiji women rally behind Fijiana ahead of Scotland clash

Bitila Tawake, Fiji women’s rugby vice-captain, has urged the nation to back the Fijiana after a wave of criticism following their opening Rugby World Cup loss to Canada. As Fiji gears up for their next match against Scotland, she stressed that the players are carrying Fiji’s pride on the world stage and need encouragement more than ever.

“We just need support. I think that’s one of the biggest things that we really need at this stage. We’re taking Fiji to the world and I think one thing that matters the most to us is our family back at home,” Tawake said. She also reminded fans that results on the scoreboard do not define their passion and commitment to the jersey.

“Despite the scoreboard, we’re out here repping the black and white jersey. What we do is for our country, and we take a lot of pride in it,” she added. With Scotland up next, the team intends to keep fighting and hopes the nation will stand with them through both the highs and lows.

The Vodafone Fijiana are scheduled to face Scotland at 1:45 am this Sunday.

Summary
Fijiana seek to convert national pride and home support into a stronger showing against Scotland, underscoring that belief, unity, and backing from fans at home can help push them forward.
