Newly appointed Fijiana 15s interim head coach Mike Legge has emphasized a commitment to continuity as the team gears up for upcoming international fixtures. Legge is keen to maintain the successful foundation laid during last year’s World Cup campaign, highlighting that he does not intend to implement sweeping changes.

Legge stated, “I think more of the same. I’m not going to come in and change everything. We had a really good formula last year with the World Cup, and we saw in the Welsh game what we can do.” This approach aims to build on last year’s successes while ensuring consistency in the team’s performance.

While the core structure of the team will remain intact, Legge aims to refine certain aspects to strengthen the identity of Fijiana rugby. He expressed his intention to infuse new elements that align with the spirit and culture of Fijiana rugby, stating, “We’ll add a few new things to what we do to bring more of our Fijiana identity up, which is a big thing for me.”

As the Fijiana team continues its preparations in camp for upcoming test matches and regional commitments, there is palpable excitement about the balance between tradition and innovation that Legge aims to achieve. This new chapter under Legge’s leadership promises to honor the past achievements of the team while strategically enhancing their playing style moving forward.
