Vani Buleki, a former Fijiana rugby sevens forward, is poised to make her debut with the Western Force in their upcoming Super W match against the ACT Brumbies at HBF Park in Perth. Buleki will take her position on the wing, marking an exciting milestone in her career. Notably, her former teammate from the Fijiana sevens squad, Ana Naimasi, will not be included in the Brumbies’ Match 23.

The Western Force lineup will also feature prominent players like Sera Naiqama, who has gained experience with the NSW Waratahs and the Australian Wallaroos. Naiqama, with family ties to former Fiji Bati captains Wes and Kevin Naiqama, is expected to enhance the team’s competitive edge as they aim for a strong performance.

On the other side, the Brumbies will showcase fresh talent, as coach Andy Friend has announced six debutants in the squad. Among them is No.8 Tabua Tuinakauvadra, who proudly represents Fijian heritage. The team sees returning player Ella Ryan starting at scrumhalf, positioning her alongside Faitala Moleka. Interestingly, Faitala’s sister, Manua, will also debut from the bench, indicating a bright future for the club with new talents ready to make their mark.

Contributing to the narrative of Fijian rugby, Jiowana Sauto, a former prop for the Fijiana XVs, is set to play for the Queensland Reds in a development match against Penina Pasifika at Ballymore Stadium. This development underscores the continuous growth and recognition of Fijian athletes in the rugby arena.

The integration of these emerging talents is not only a boost for their respective teams but also signifies a positive trend in the acknowledgment of Fijian players on the global stage. As Buleki and her teammates hit the field, they will embody the vibrant spirit of Fijian rugby, promising fans exhilarating performances and an optimistic future for the sport.
