Fijian Minister Faces Corruption Charges: A Legal Battle Unfolds

Former Minister for Fisheries Kalaveti Ravu has entered a not guilty plea to charges related to corruption. Ravu appeared in the Magistrates Court in Suva this morning, facing one count of Abuse of Office. He is joined by Tekata Toisi, the Regional Manager for North, who is charged with one count of Aiding and Abetting Abuse of Office. The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption has provided the second phase disclosures to the defense counsel. The case has been postponed until August 28 for a mention.
