Pacific Fishing Company Pte Limited (PAFCO) has officially joined the Fijian Drua’s sponsorship family through its well-known “Sun Bell” brand. This partnership marks the beginning of a three-year sponsorship agreement, highlighted by the launch of the inaugural Sun Bell Drua 10s tournament.
This exciting one-day event aims to showcase some of Fiji’s top provincial players against members of the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua. It is set to become an annual event, featuring two teams from the Drua Men’s squad and six provincial teams.
Fijian Drua CEO Mark Evans expressed enthusiasm about welcoming PAFCO as a sponsor, emphasizing the company’s significant role in Fiji’s economy and community, especially in Ovalau. He noted that many Fijians have grown up recognizing the Sun Bell brand and acknowledges that the Fijian Drua can help elevate its prominence in the country. The Drua organization plans to deepen community engagement through visits to Lomaiviti.
In addition to the sponsorship, PAFCO’s products will be crucial for the nutritional needs of both the men’s and women’s teams. PAFCO CEO Saiyad Raiyum shared his pride in supporting the Drua as they compete in the Super Rugby Pacific. He highlighted that PAFCO, which is one of Fiji’s most established companies, has a history spanning 50 years and a commitment to providing high-quality canned tuna products, which will support the teams’ performance over the next three seasons.
