Pacific Fishing Company Pte Limited (PAFCO) has entered into a partnership with the Fijian Drua, aligning under the “Sun Bell” brand. This collaboration marks the beginning of a three-year sponsorship deal that includes the launch of the inaugural Sun Bell Drua 10s tournament.
The new one-day event will showcase some of Fiji’s leading provincial players competing against members of the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua. The tournament is set to become an annual highlight, featuring two men’s teams from the Drua alongside six provincial teams.
Mark Evans, CEO of the Fijian Drua, expressed excitement about the collaboration, highlighting the positive impact of PAFCO in Fiji’s economy and their strong brand recognition within the country. He stated that the partnership would enhance the Sun Bell brand’s visibility and noted PAFCO’s deep connection with the Ovalau community, expressing eagerness to engage with local fans.
PAFCO’s CEO, Saiyad Raiyum, shared his pride in supporting the Fijian Drua, emphasizing the company’s heritage and commitment to Fiji. He highlighted that their Sun Bell brand has been a staple for 50 years and is thrilled to provide nutritional support to the Drua teams for the upcoming Super Rugby Pacific competition. PAFCO’s canned tuna products, known for their quality, will play a significant role in the athletes’ meal planning.
