Last Saturday, the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua showcased an impressive performance against the Brumbies, resulting in a record-breaking viewership for a regular season match. According to Fijian Drua chief executive Mark Evans, more than 307,658 registered users tuned in to watch the game via the Walesi App, marking the first time a Drua regular season match exceeded the 300,000 views milestone. This significant achievement highlights the growing popularity of rugby in Fiji and the team’s expanding fan base.

Despite the team’s valiant efforts, they now hold the second spot for most views, trailing behind the Drua’s quarter-final match against the Blues in 2024, which garnered 382,726 views. The overwhelming turnout reflects the passionate support that the Drua enjoy from their fans, both locally and internationally.

Building on this excitement, the Drua are set to welcome the Brumbies again, marking a historic occasion as it is the first time the Brumbies have played competitively in Fiji. The anticipation is palpable as fans eagerly look forward to experiencing live rugby in a vibrant atmosphere.

The remarkable growth in viewership and fan engagement underscores the strengthening rugby culture in Fiji and the community’s unwavering support for their team. With enthusiastic fans and a promising season ahead, the Drua are poised to become a significant force in rugby, inspiring hope and excitement across the nation.
