A Fijian business, Vuvale Outsourcing, recently made a generous contribution by donating $1.5 million worth of brand new children’s clothing to 30 schools across Fiji. The first school to receive this donation was Ro Camaisala Memorial School in Namosi, where the delivery was made yesterday.

This initiative is part of Vuvale Outsourcing’s larger corporate social responsibility program, in collaboration with renowned Australian retailer Lowes Menswear. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica acknowledged the importance of businesses like Vuvale in fostering investor confidence and contributing to the country’s economy. He emphasized that such partnerships create job opportunities and encourage sustainable growth.

Vuvale Outsourcing’s founder, Miles Blok, explained that the donation underscores their commitment to supporting local communities beyond business operations. He noted that Lowes Menswear generously provided the clothing, and Vuvale’s role is to facilitate its distribution to the communities in need. The total projected donations from Lowes to Fiji are expected to exceed $3 million by the end of the year, which includes 26,000 pairs of industrial pants and 15,000 meters of fabric aimed at assisting single mothers affected by the challenges in the garment industry.

The package delivered includes a variety of children’s clothing such as pants, shorts, T-shirts, formal shirts, sportswear, and raincoats—42 pallets in total—aimed at meeting the clothing needs of students across the recipient schools.

This initiative highlights a positive trend in corporate social responsibility within Fiji, showcasing how business collaborations can significantly enhance the lives of children and their educational experiences. As more partnerships are formed, they contribute to a hopeful narrative of community development and support in the region’s economy.
