Fijian Broadcasting Corporation sports commentator Satish Narain has received a prestigious opportunity to join the World Rugby commentary team for the upcoming HSBC Sevens Series tournaments in Singapore and Perth. Narain’s return to these international events follows a successful performance in Perth last year, highlighting his growing reputation within the global sports commentary arena.
Expressing his gratitude for the selection, Narain stated, “Being selected for two tournaments this year is a massive honour, and I am determined to go out there and do my absolute best for Fiji.” He emphasized the pride he feels when representing Fiji on a worldwide platform and looks forward to showcasing the passion of Fijian rugby to an international audience.
Narain extended his appreciation to his family, friends, and the Fijian Broadcasting Corporation team for their unwavering support throughout his career. He specifically acknowledged CEO Tarun Patel and his colleagues for their encouragement and for fostering an environment that allows local talent to flourish. “This journey wouldn’t be possible without the unwavering support of the FBC family,” he affirmed.
With nearly 35 years in sports broadcasting, Narain’s involvement in the HSBC Sevens events underscores the high caliber of broadcasting talent in Fiji. His recent commentary engagement at the McDonald’s Coral Coast Fiji 7s, where he worked alongside notable commentators such as Rikki Swannell, Greg Clarke, Sean Maloney, and Karl Te Nana, further cements his position in the industry.
Narain’s achievements not only reflect personal success but also shine a spotlight on Fijian sports broadcasting, inspiring others in the field to pursue excellence.
