Fiji Women’s Futsal Head Coach Jerry Sam has highlighted the team’s eagerness to learn and progress as their most impressive attribute. Currently, the squad is in the Solomon Islands preparing for the inaugural OFC Women’s Futsal Championship, where they will face Tahiti in their opening match.
“The girls have trained hard for the tournament. They’re always looking ahead, and representing Fiji is a milestone they all hope to achieve,” Sam stated.
He also noted the positive team dynamics, mentioning that the players have been supporting one another through their training, despite the challenges of being new to the competition. “It’s been great to see the girls blending well and encouraging each other to keep moving forward. They’re keen to learn something new every day,” he added.
Sam indicated that he would be able to better assess the team’s performance after their first match on Saturday but expressed complete confidence in his players’ capabilities.
