Weather Alert
Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi
So, it’s Tuesday afternoon and while you’re trying to figure out what to do with your day, the weather has decided to throw a little bit of everything your way! Here’s what’s going down in Fiji until midnight tomorrow:
Be prepared for a cozy and cloudy blanket over Suva, Nausori, Navua, and a few other lucky locations. You might want to grab an umbrella because showers are planning to drop by uninvited. While you’re at it, keep your ears tuned for the distant rumble of isolated thunderstorms – that’s not just your stomach growling, folks!
As for the rest of the islands, expect a sunny show, occasionally interrupted by a pop-up shower or two. And let’s not forget the potential drama with localised heavy rains that could make the puddles look like miniature lakes. If you happen to be in low-lying areas, pack your floatie because flash flooding is on the guest list!
And winds? They’ll be moderate to fresh, like a gentle nudge to remind you that Mother Nature likes to keep things breezy, especially for moderate to rough seas. So maybe avoid staging a Titanic reenactment unless you’re into that sort of thing.
Looking ahead to Thursday, clouds are back for an encore performance in the interior and coastal areas of Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, and several other locales, where they’ll be raiding the sky with occasional showers. The rest of you can anticipate a fine day but don’t get too comfy; those sneaky afternoon or evening showers might pop up when you least expect them. Thunderstorms are again on the radar—who knew the forecast could be so dramatic?
In specifics:
For Navua / Suva / Nausori: Get ready for cloudy times with showers and a guest appearance from thunderstorms which may bring some heavy rain.
For Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Fine for the most part, though don’t be surprised if those sneaky afternoon showers crash the party.
For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: It’s mostly fine, unless of course, the rain decides to join you for a yawn in the afternoon or evening.
For Tavua/Rakiraki: Expect cloudy periods with a few heavenly showers. Don’t worry too much—rain can be fun, right?
For Natadradave/Korovou: More clouds, more showers, more thunderstorms—sounds a bit familiar, doesn’t it?
For Yasawa/Mamanuca: Sit back and relax; it’s mostly fine here, just a curious shower or two could drop in unannounced.
For Labasa: Similar deal—a sunshiny front but look out for those possible thunderstorms.
For Savusavu: Cloudy is the mood, showers are expected, and hold onto your hats for thunderstorms!
For Lau/ Lomaiviti and Kadavu: Embrace the clouds because they’re likely to linger and sprinkle a bit of rain.
For Rotuma: The easterly winds are here to play! Expect brief showers and possible thunderstorms.
Stay dry, stay cool, and remember: weather is just nature’s way of reminding us how cozy our homes really are!
