Weather Update

Alright, folks, gather around for your Saturday weather forecast, sizzling hot right out of the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi at 8:23 AM on March 8, 2025!

It appears we’ve got a sleepy little trough of low pressure hanging out over the Northern and Eastern parts of the country like it just moved in and isn’t quite sure when to leave. It seems it might stick around for a few more days, bringing along its entourage of clouds and showers to throw a party, especially for the Northern Division, Lau, and Lomaiviti groups. So, if you’re out and about today, you might want to keep that umbrella handy—it’s about to get a little drizzly!

We’re looking at periods of showers that could go from a gentle sprinkle to “where did I put my raft?” levels of heavy rainfall. Thunderstorms are also invited to the gathering, so let’s just say it’s going to be a bit exciting—think of it as nature’s way of keeping us on our toes!

Other regions like Sigatoka, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu, and Naitasiri will have their fair share of cloudy moments with some showers. Grab a cozy chair, perhaps a good book, and enjoy the weather from indoors because outside might be just a tiny bit unpredictable!

As for the lovely Yasawa and Kadavu islands, expect some cloudy periods to mix things up a bit, with a shower or two sneaking in. And if you’re in the Western side—Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba—consider yourself lucky with mostly fine weather, though Mother Nature might still throw an occasional shower your way to keep things interesting.

For our friends in Tavua, Rakiraki, Labasa, and Savusavu, get ready for some splashy fun; it’s a day filled with occasional showers, and those thunderstorm guests might just drop by too!

Hold onto your hats because even Rotuma is not off the hook—occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms are making their rounds, with winds breezing in like they own the place.

Looking ahead to Sunday, it seems like déjà vu—the Northern Division, Lau, and Lomaiviti will continue their rain-loving ways, while others will enjoy clouds, showers, and perhaps a spontaneous thunderstorm or two. Just remember, if you hear the rumble of thunder, it’s not the sky getting ready for a concert; it’s just the atmosphere doing its daily warm-up!

So while you plan your weekend, keep those umbrellas close, and don’t forget your sense of humor—after all, a good laugh is the best raincoat! Stay safe, everyone!
