Weather Update Alert

Good news, folks! The previous heavy rain alert for our friends in the Northern Division, as well as the Eastern and Interior parts of Viti Levu, Kadavu, and the surrounding smaller islands, Lau, and Lomaiviti groups have been lifted. So, feel free to put those umbrellas back in their corner and let the sunshine in… sort of.

Now, let’s chat about what to expect for the weather forecast until midnight tomorrow for our lovely Fiji group. Get ready for some cloudy periods that will come with showers over the usual suspects: Sigatoka, Korolevu, Deuba, Navua, Suva, Nausori, Korovou, Rakiraki, and more. Let’s just say if you’re near Dama, Nabouwalu, or any of those places, a good splash of rain may surprise you, especially in the afternoon or evening. Bring your swim goggles just in case!

While most of us are looking at cloudy skies with scattered showers, we should be on the lookout for thunderstorms throwing a surprise party later today. Localized heavy falls could take their party vibes to flash flooding in some low-lying areas, so keep your feet dry! For those in Navua, Suva, and Nausori, grab your raincoats—it’s going to be a wet day with a high of 31°C. Tomorrow you can expect similar temperatures, starting from a cozy 24°C at night.

Sunday, on the horizon, looks to keep the clouds in and the rain showers buzzing around, while a few parts may get some sun.

For various areas, here’s a bright-side overview:
– Natadradave/Korovou: Same cloud party with possibilities of showers. Max: 31°C—don’t let that fool you; it might come with a side of rain!
– Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Prepare for the afternoon shower and thunder-showers—Max: 31°C (who knew rain could complement such warmth?)
– Nadi/Lautoka/Ba: Keep that umbrella handy for afternoon delights in the form of rain. Max: 32°C.

Heads up for Yasawa/Mamanuca group and friends—expect similar cloudy conditions, but it’s a great excuse for a cozy day indoors with some TV or a book!

Labasa, Savusavu, Nabouwalu, Taveuni, and the Lau and Lomaiviti group will also see cloudiness, with max temperatures sticking around 30-31°C and some unpredictable thunderstorms making an entrance.

Oh, and for our island pals in Rotuma: hang tight as strong wind warnings are still in effect. Seems that low-pressure trough decided to throw a bit of a ruckus, with northwesterly winds of 20-25 knots.

In summary, grab those casual raincoats, somewhere between a summer fling and a thunderous love affair! The weather is keeping things interesting, and who doesn’t love a rainy romantic day? Stay safe and dry out there!
