Weather Update

Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 10:45 AM on Friday, August 8, 2025

Hold onto your hats, folks! A cool, dry southerly wind is sweeping across Fiji, like a gentle reminder that winter was a thing. Don’t get too cozy yet, though; it’s about to switch gears to a predominantly southeasterly breeze tomorrow.

Now for the forecast until midnight tomorrow:

Expect clear skies, except for a few shy showers popping up over Sigatoka-Coral Coast, Navua, Suva, Nausori, Kadavu, and their tiny island buddies, Lau and Lomaiviti, along with Southern Bua and Cakaudrove. Meanwhile, everywhere else is set to bask in the sunshine. So, a cool night lies ahead for all you night owls!

Winds will be moderately friendly from the south, making their gradual turn southeast starting tomorrow, while the seas stay moderate—a great reminder that just because the weather’s fine doesn’t mean you can’t still turn into a human burrito on those chilly nights.

Looking ahead to Sunday: You may want to keep an umbrella handy if you’re in the Sigatoka-Coral Coast, Navua, Suva, Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra, Kadavu, and those smaller islands, as they’ll see some cloudy stages with more showers than they probably asked for. Fingers crossed for mainly sunny vibes elsewhere!
