Weather Bulletin
Attention, fellow Fijians! The National Weather Forecasting Centre has rolled out the weather carpet and here’s what it’s looking like. Grab your umbrellas, but maybe leave the kava bowl inside, unless you enjoy a shower party!
Firstly, that STRONG WIND WARNING for the coastal folks of Beqa, Vatulele, Qelelevu, Lau, and Lomaiviti has been as cancelled as your last gym membership. It’s smooth sailing—or should I say, smooth breezing from here on out!
So, what can you expect until midnight tomorrow? Well, prepare for cloud cover with brief showers making an appearance over the interior and southeastern coastal areas of Viti Levu (from Serua/Namosi all the way up to Suva and Korovou). Kadavu, the southern bits of Vanua Levu, Taveuni, and their tiny island buddies will also experience some of these lovely sprinkles. Elsewhere, we’re enjoying a fine time, so make the most of it!
As the sun sets, grab a light blanket because it’s going to get cool at night. A moderate breeze will be wafting from the south to southeast, giving you just enough of a chill to reconsider that mid-night snack. The seas are sporting moderate to rough waves, so if you’re planning to surf, make sure you’re channeling your inner sea captain!
Now, looking to Sunday: expect more clouds with those cheeky brief showers returning to the interior and southeastern coast areas. The rest will remain fine, letting you plan your beach outing without worrying too much—unless you’re in a shower zone, then maybe hang on to that umbrella a little tighter!
Here’s the lowdown for your specific spots:
– Navua / Suva / Nausori: Cloudy times with brief showers. Cool nights are prime for cuddling up!
– Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: Mainly fine; it’s a great excuse to hit the beach! And yes, it gets cool at night.
– Coral Coast/Sigatoka, Tavua/Rakiraki, Yasawa/Mamanuca group, and Labasa: You’re enjoying mainly fine weather. Cool nights are calling!
– Natadradave/Korovou and Savusavu: Get ready for some cloudy periods with brief showers. Don’t forget your water pressure reports!
– Lau and Lomaiviti group, Kadavu: More clouds with brief showers. It’s like a pattern now—stay hydrated!
– Rotuma: Primed for fine weather with fresh southeast winds and moderate to rough seas. Perfect for the sailors out there!
Don’t forget! Cool nights ahead mean hot cocoa or a snuggly sweater is excellent advice. Stay dry, and most importantly, keep those spirits high!
