So, here’s the scoop—an east to northeasterly windflow is strutting its stuff across Fiji, while a rather moody trough of low pressure, complete with cloud and showers, is making its approach from the east. Expect this wet party to kick off later Wednesday and stick around for a few days.
Forecast until midnight tomorrow for our beautiful stakeholders in Fiji:
Get ready for some cloudy shenanigans with a sprinkle of showers and maybe some isolated thunderstorms, especially over the eastern regions of Viti Levu (no rain dance required). Locations like Greater Suva, Nausori, and our mountainous pals in Naitasiri and Ra should brace themselves for some wetness, while the Lau and Lomaiviti groups prepare their umbrellas.
Elsewhere, it’s all sunshine and smiles during the day, but keep an eye out for those cheeky afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms. As soon as tomorrow, showers are on the agenda and they may come knocking a bit too often. We wouldn’t be surprised if localised heavy downpours decide to crash the low-lying and flood-prone areas with a splash.
Winds are set to be moderate to fresh from the east to northeast—perfect for a breezy day at the beach but a little gusty if you’re caught in one of those surprise rainstorms. The seas are feeling a bit moody too, moderate to rough, perfect for those adventurous at heart!
Outlook for Thursday: Expect the occasional showers, swooping in with some of their thunderstorm pals, particularly over places like Vanua Levu, Taveuni, and yes, our dear Yasawa and Mamanuca islands. As the day goes on, be prepared for showers to turn into rain. Some isolated thunderstorms might pop up, too, just to keep things interesting.
In the lovely areas of Navua, Suva, and Nausori: get ready for more of the same cloudy antics with showers and isolated thunderstorms. Showers will become a regular visitor from late tomorrow, so keep those umbrellas handy!
For those in Natadradave/Korovou: Just like before—cloudy with showers and thunderstorms creeping in from tomorrow.
Now let’s chat about the sizzling forecasts:
– For Sigatoka/Coral Coast, it’s all smiles for today, a little fine weather with only afternoon or evening rain to worry about.
– Nadi/Lautoka/Ba are in for some fine but stormy fun in the late afternoons.
– Over in Tavua/Rakiraki and Yasawa/Mamanuca, it’s the same mix of sunshine and thunderstorms—because who doesn’t love a dramatic weather show?
– Don’t forget Labasa, Savusavu, and Nabouwalu! They’re not shy either; expect some rain and evening thunderstorms.
– And poor Rotuma, caught in the grip of a trough with a cloudy vibe and some sneaky thunderstorms too!
Today’s max temperature is set to be around 32°C for most, though feel free to crank up the heat to 34°C if you’re in the right spot! Strap in for tomorrow’s min at 25°C and those max temperatures staying consistent.
So buckle up and enjoy the weather—it’s going to be a wild, wet ride!
