Weather Update
Greetings from the ever-so-breezy National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi! Buckle up, folks, it’s January 25, 2026, and while we may not have jetpacks, we do have some interesting weather to report!
Let’s start with the situation at hand: a low-pressure trough is slouching over Vanua Levu and the northern parts of Fiji, kind of like your friend after a huge meal. Thankfully, this weather sloth is expected to weaken and fade into the background by the end of the day. In the meantime, a slightly cheeky south to southwesterly wind is swirling around the island!
Here’s what you can expect until midnight tomorrow:
– Vanua Levu, Cikobia & Qelelevu: prepare for some cloudy shenanigans with brief showers and possibly some dramatic afternoon or evening thunderstorms. You know, just enough to keep you on your toes!
– On the sunny side, Sigatoka-Coral Coast to Navua-Suva-Nausori, along with the Interior Nadroga/Navosa, Ra, Naitasiri & Serua-Namosi and Tailevu North, will enjoy some fine weather sprinkled with brief showers.
– Elsewhere, sunshine and mild weather reign supreme—because who doesn’t love a little vitamin D?
Expect moderate winds from the south to southwest, and keep your sea legs handy, as the seas will be moderately spirited as well!
Now, peeking into Tuesday’s crystal ball:
– Cloudy times are on the agenda for the eastern and interior parts of Viti Levu, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove provinces, Lau and Lomaiviti group, and Kadavu, complete with a side of brief showers.
– The rest will bask in sunlit glory, but keep your eyes peeled for the odd afternoon or evening thunderstorm—nature’s way of keeping you guessing!
As for specific temperature highs, it’ll be a rather consistent day. Most areas will see temperature peaks around 31 to 32 degrees Celsius, because who needs variety, right?
