Weather Update
Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 7:30 PM on Friday, July 18, 2025

Well folks, it seems we have a low-pressure trough decided to throw a little party over the eastern parts of Fiji. But don’t worry; it’s preparing to head off, leaving behind some cloud cover and showers as a parting gift. And here’s a fun fact: it might not be the last we hear from this weather phenomenon, as it’s expected to still sprinkle a few showers around until tomorrow. Meanwhile, the east to southeast winds are taking over the sky like they own the place!

Here’s what you can expect until midnight tomorrow across the Fiji group:
– Prepare for occasional showers and possibly some heavy downpours in Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Kadavu, and various other islands that didn’t quite make the cut for a solo mention. The showers will eventually ease to a point that might resemble something normal from tomorrow.
– Just a heads up: those localized heavy downpours could get a bit carried away and lead to flash flooding in low-lying areas. So, avoid river dancing on the roads!
– For the rest of you, brace yourself for some fine weather, albeit with potential sneaky afternoon or evening showers looking to crash the party.
– Nights will be cool, giving you a solid excuse to cuddle with a blanket.
– Moderate to fresh east to southeast winds are in the air, making it feel a tad breezy, and the seas promise to be moderate to rough, providing an interesting challenge if you fancy a swim.

**Looking ahead to Sunday:**
– Expect cloudy periods with some showers hovering around Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and all those other lovely islands. Some isolated heavy falls might pop up for dramatic effect.
– Of course, other areas will remain fine, with that same lovely potential for afternoon or evening showers deciding to make a grand entrance.
– Nights? Still cool, because we apparently live in a refrigerator now!
– And those southeast winds and moderate to rough seas are here to keep the excitement alive!
