Weather Update

Brought to you by the weather wizards at the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi at 3:30 PM on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

So grab that umbrella or maybe just a stylish raincoat with some pizzazz, because here’s what the skies have in store for our lovely Fiji group until midnight tomorrow:

We’re looking at a bit of a gloomy situation over southeastern Viti Levu (that includes the charming areas of Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra-Rakiraki, and the interior of Ra), Southern Bua and Cakaudrove provinces, as well as the fabulous Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu, and those dapper little islands nearby, along with Taveuni and Qamea. In these areas, expect some cloudy spells, coupled with a few sneaky showers trying to steal the spotlight.

Meanwhile, the rest of the islands want to show off their sunny dispositions, with just the occasional afternoon or evening sprinkle trying to crash the party.

Winds are moderate to fresh, swirling in from the east-northeast, adding to the drama. And if you’re planning on a little adventure at sea, brace yourselves for moderate to rough conditions out there.

Looking ahead to Monday, it seems like clouds are still planning to hang around, particularly over the usual suspects: Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri, Ra-Rakiraki, the interior of Ra, eastern Macuata, and Cakaudrove, along with Kadavu, Taveuni, and Qamea, and the Lau and Lomaiviti crew. For those lounging elsewhere, keep those good vibes because it’s looking fine, but don’t let your guard down—afternoon or evening showers might be lurking, possibly accompanied by spontaneous thunderstorms looking for an uninvited entrance.

Now let’s break it down for some specific areas:

For Navua / Suva / Nausori: Cloudy periods with a few of those pesky showers.
For Monday: Same story—cloudy with showers aiming to keep you company!

For Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Sunshine wants some stage time except for those random afternoon or evening showers.
For Monday: Bright spirit continues, but expect those showers as well.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: It’s all about clean skies apart from occasional rain surprises.
For Monday: A repeat performance for a sunny day—unless the showers have plans to drop by.

For Tavua/Rakiraki: Cloudy periods and some dousing from above in Rakiraki. Elsewhere, the sun shines except for some afternoon drizzles.
For Monday: Expect a cloudy sequel in Rakiraki with the same scattered showers in the rest of the region.

For Natadradave/Korovou: You guessed it—cloud cover with some flexible showers.
For Monday: Just enough cloud to keep things interesting with the showers returning.

For Yasawa/Mamanuca: It’s all good until those pesky showers decide to crash your beach party in the afternoon or evening.
For Monday: A sunny encore unless the showers feel like auditioning again.

For Labasa: Unfortunately, fine weather feels a tiny bit guilty with its afternoon showers.
For Monday: A cloud party with some light rain.

For Savusavu: Same as before—cloudy with occasional showers.
For Monday: More of those clouds talking back with showers.

For Lau/Lomaiviti: Cloudy and shower-filled weekends are all around.
For Monday: Prepare for more cloudy fun!

For Kadavu: Clouds are your new friends, accompanied by some friendly showers.
For Monday: Expect the same cloudy hospitality.

For Rotuma: The winds are moist, and a low-pressure trough is hanging out nearby. What’s that mean? A bit of rain and even a thunderstorm might join the gathering.
For Monday: Those showers and thunderstorms are still in the mix!

So, in summary, keep your rain gear within reach, stay fabulous, and don’t let a little rain dampen your spirits!
