Weather Update

Good morning, Fiji! It appears that a shy little trough of low pressure is hanging out to the west of us, accompanied by some clouds and showers that seem to be playing hide-and-seek. Meanwhile, our friend the moist northerly wind is keeping things interesting across the islands.

For today, expect showers to make an appearance in Sigatoka, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua, and Rakiraki, just to name a few. These rain clouds are scheduled to ease up as the day progresses, like a neighbor who finally decides to take it down a notch after too many weekend barbecues.

The Lau and Lomaiviti groups will be a tad more on the cloudy side, with some showers joining in the fun. Other areas can look forward to mostly fine weather, though be ready for some delightful afternoon or evening showers and isolated thunderstorms – because who doesn’t enjoy a little drama in their day?

Flash flooding could be on the agenda for low-lying areas, so, if you’re in one of those spots, maybe consider wearing a pair of floaties just in case. The winds will be blowing moderately to fresh, giving you the perfect excuse to let your hair do its wild thing. And don’t forget about those moderate to rough seas – it’s a splash zone out there!

Looking ahead to Tuesday, the forecast looks quite similar, with cloudy periods and some showers making rounds in the same areas. In Navua, Suva, and Nausori, enjoy some fine weather that will take a slight turn for the stormy by evening.

As for temperatures, we’re looking at a comfortable minimum of 24 degrees and a maximum that’s reaching up to 31 degrees. But don’t let the warmth lull you into complacency; remember your umbrella if you want to keep dry through those potential thunderstorms!

Enjoy the day, keep an eye on the clouds, and may your rain dances bring just enough weather magic without turning you into a soggy biscuit!
