Weather Update

Greetings, fellow weather watchers! Gather ’round as we unveil the latest forecast from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi, duct-taped together as of 10:45 am on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

Situation: Brace yourselves, folks! A low-pressure trough, which sounds like an inconvenient plumbing issue, is rolling in from the west, and it’s bringing along some clouds and rain as uninvited guests. For now, we’re experiencing a pleasant southeast wind flow, as if nature is giving us a refreshing breeze before the party starts.

Forecast until midnight tomorrow for our lovely Fiji group:
Expect cloudy spells with some dribbles of rain over Navua, Suva, Nausori, and their nearby buddies in Serua-Namosi, as well as parts of Ra, Naitasiri, Tailevu North, Kadavu, and those smaller islands that didn’t make it onto the tourist brochures. For those in the less crowded parts like Nabouwalu to Dakuniba and beyond, you might enjoy my personal favorite: isolated afternoon or evening showers, because who doesn’t enjoy a surprise sprinkle?

Now, let’s spice things up with some rain and thunderstorms making their grand entrance from the west later tomorrow. So be ready, the skies may start to join the “let’s get wet” party! Winds will shift from moderate east to southeast, before transitioning to moderate to fresh northeast, which makes it seem like the wind is trying on different outfits.

Sea conditions are currently moderate but expect them to get a bit rougher tomorrow, as if the ocean decided it’s time for some dramatic flair.

Looking into Thursday: We’re talking about occasional rain, heavy at times, with a few thunderstorms thrown in for good measure. Localized heavy falls might lead to flash flooding, so maybe hold off on that outdoor picnic!

Now, let’s break it down for some of our favorite spots:

For Navua, Suva, and Nausori: Expect cloudy intervals with showers. And yes, rain and thunderstorms will join us later. Temperature is looking a cozy Min: 22, Max: 32.

Natadradave/Korovou: It’s the same tale here—cloudy with some showers and rainy thunderous neighbors knocking on the door tomorrow. Min: 22, Max: 32.

Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Cloudy with brief showers, with a nice Min: 23, Max: 32 on the dots.

For Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba: All good here with fine weather—just some isolated afternoon or evening showers to keep things interesting. Tomorrow? Rain and thunderstorms will add a splash of excitement! Min: 23, Max: 32.

Tavua/Rakiraki is hopping along the same lines—just some isolated showers, and it’s set for rain and thunder later. Min: 23, Max: 33.

Yasawa/Mamanuca group: Fine weather is in the cards with just a sprinkle or two, turning to rain and thunderstorms tomorrow. Similar weather pattern: Min: 23, Max: 32.

Labasa: Also enjoying the fine weather with a sprinkle or two. Rain and thunderstorms make their debut tomorrow! Min: 23, Max: 33.

For Savusavu: Cloudy with showers, rain, and thunder joining the fun tomorrow. Min: 23, Max: 33.

Nabouwalu: Clouds with a chance of showers before the rain and thunderstorms arrive later. Min: 23, Max: 33.

Taveuni is having a typical day with clouds and showers. Thunderstorms are on the horizon! Min: 23, Max: 33.

In Lau and Lomaiviti group: A bit cloudy with brief showers, and yes, rain and thunderstorms will crash the party tomorrow. Min: 23, Max: 32.

Kadavu: Expect a cloud cover with brief showers, with excitement coming in the form of thunderstorms later. Min: 23, Max: 33.

Rotuma: Enjoy fine weather with some brief showers, with moderate seas to keep things exciting. Min: 24, Max: 32.

And as we edge into Thursday, be prepared for those brief showers to be cloudy all over again with temperatures to match.

So grab your umbrellas and raincoats, folks! We’re in for a mixed bag of weather. Stay dry (or at least wear stylish rain gear) and enjoy whatever Mother Nature has planned!
