Weather Forecast Extravaganza!

Straight from the desk of the National Weather Forecasting Centre, here’s your Sunday forecast with a twist of humor, served fresh at 5:30 a.m. on December 28, 2025.

So, what’s going on in the sky today? A pesky trough of low pressure is hanging out in the eastern and northern parts of the islands like an uninvited guest at a party, bringing along some clouds and showers. Meanwhile, the moist east to northeast winds are blowing through like a friendly breeze, ensuring everyone gets a bit of moisture today!

Here’s what you can expect before the clock strikes midnight:

If you’re in Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Eastern Macuata, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and the nearby islands (yes, you have some company), expect some occasional showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms. Take your umbrella – you might just need it! Heavy rain could crash the party and lead to flash flooding in those low-lying areas.

For everyone else: keep things fine! Just a chance of some afternoon or evening showers to keep things interesting. The winds will be moderate and fresh, but watch out for those gusty moments that might just throw your hair into a new trend.

Now, looking ahead to Monday – it looks like déjà vu! More occasional showers and thunderstorms for our friends in the same regions. It’s like a weather sequel nobody asked for! But hey, at least it will keep the flowers happy.

For specific areas:
– Navua/Suva/Nausori: Occasional showers and thunderstorms. Min: 22, Max: 31.
– Natadradave/Korovou: More of the same! Min: 21, Max: 31.
– Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Expect fine weather with an afternoon shower or two – and some occasional drama in the form of thunderstorms. Min: 22, Max: 32.
– Nadi/Lautoka/Ba: Fine until the evening rolls around, bringing potential shower surprises. Min: 22, Max: 32.
– Yasawa/Mamanuca group: A spritz of showers and thunder, but you can still plan for some sunshine. Min: 22, Max: 30.
– And for our friends on Rotuma: Skip the weather drama, with just some brief showers to keep it fresh – brace yourself for those moderate winds! Min: 25, Max: 30.

And there you have it – your weather forecast wrapped up with a bow of lightheartedness. Stay dry, or at least stylishly soaked, and make the most out of whatever Mother Nature throws your way!
