Weather Update
Gather ’round, folks, as we dive into the weather predictions that could make or break your weekend plans! From the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi, we’re bringing you the latest scoop on our atmospheric antics!
Right now, there’s a rather lazy trough of low pressure just lounging around to the north of us. It’s not exactly winning any awards for punctuality and will be affecting our Northern Division for the next few days – just when you thought it was safe to hang up your umbrella!
While we’re hosting this cloud party, a southeasterly wind is playing the role of the lively DJ, keeping things fresh across the country. So, here’s what Mother Nature has in store for you until midnight tomorrow:
Expect cloudy periods here and there with a good chance of showers trying to steal the show over places like Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori and many more. The northern folks, brace yourselves – isolated heavy downpours and flashbang thunderstorms might just crash the party.
Elsewhere, don’t let the sunny spells fool you; there might be a sneaky afternoon or evening shower waiting to surprise you like that friend who suddenly shows up uninvited. The winds will come in moderate to fresh bursts, and yes, they might get a tad gusty around those dramatic thunderstorms.
As for our Saturday outlook, it looks like a reprise of the cloudy concert with those showers headlining again. Grab your umbrellas just in case!
Now, let’s break it down by your favorite spots:
Navua / Suva / Nausori: Get those raincoats ready! Tomorrow’s minimum is a comfy 22 degrees and a maximum of 31. For Saturday, it’s the same script – cloudy with showers.
Natadradave/Korovou: They’ll be keeping it cloudy with showers, too. Tomorrow it’s a low of 21 and a high of 31, with Saturday’s forecast flirting around the same temperatures.
Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Here, we’ll see sunshine trying to shine through, apart from those cheeky afternoon or evening showers. Tomorrow’s looking at 22 to 31.
Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: A mostly fine day, with just a few sneaky showers in the afternoon. Tomorrow’s min is around 22, maxing out at a steamy 32.
And for the rest of our beautiful islands, it appears that similar weather is trending! That’s right – clouds and showers galore!
Just a friendly reminder to stay alert, especially in our northern territories, as those thunderstorms are expected to drop by unannounced with showers galore.
For Rotuma, pack your rain boots as occasional showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms loom large on the horizon, with temperatures between 25 and 30.
So, whether you’re sunbathing or sprinting for cover, make sure you’re weather-ready because this weekend’s forecast sure packs a punch!
